- Lot Description
Providence, circa 1825, with partial paper label for "S. & J. Rawson, Jr. No. 68, Broad Street, Providence... All kinds of Cabinet Furniture...", highly figured banded mahogany top opening to a plum pudding veneered playing surface, the inside cavity with original pale yellow papering and Rawson's label, trestle form base with carved paw feet, stencil decorated skirt, poplar and white pine secondary, 31 x 37-1/4 x 18-1/4 in.
Note:This table is recorded in Yale University's Rhode Island Furniture Archive, #RIF 6154. It is nearly identical to another example in the collection of the Rhode Island Historical Society.

very good condition overall, scattered typical veneer losses, crack and repairs, some areas of color retouch at top, original feet and casters with only minor wear, tops with minor crack sand warping, color retouch and other possible repair at back edge of top

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
