circa 1805, central Kentucky, likely Lincoln or Boyle County, lightwood string inlay, two drawers with circular foliate decoration flanking a center drawer with fan corners, tapered legs with inset chamfer and bellflower inlay, poplar secondary wood, 30-3/4 x 27-3/4 x 17-1/4 in.
Note: This incredibly rare Kentucky table is one of a very small number of known examples of this distinctive dressing table form. While similar individual features such as the sinuous string inlay and uniquely chamfered legs are hallmarks seen in Kentucky furniture literature, only a few examples of the central Kentucky dressing table have been documented, primarily by the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA).
