Walnut Tall Chest of Drawers
late 18th/early 19th century, figured walnut with poplar, yellow pine and oak secondary, eight dovetailed drawers flanked by fluted quarter columns, probably original brasses, set on ogee bracket feet, pegged and cut nail construction, 64-1/2 x 42 x 23 in.. Condition: refinished, appears to retain original pierced brass drawer pulls, polish residue at brasses, two drawer sides with spliced repairs(?), original feet with scattered repairs and some later screws and blocking (one front facing pieced 2 in., some knee returns possibly restored, one rear facing with crack and repair, one rear facing pieced 1 in.), top board of lower case with several later holes, many secondary surfaces with later varnish, other scattered patches and repairs and scattered surface flaws consistent with age and use.
