Mr. Shuter, Mr. Beard & Mr. Dunstall, in the Characters of Justice Woodcock, Hawthorn & Hodge, after the painting "Edward Shuter, John Beard, and John Dunstall in Isaac Bickerton's '‘Love in a Village" by Johann Zoffany, held by the Yale Center for British Art, published by the artist, J. Finlayson, H. Parker, London, 1768, John Finlayson, engraver, mezzotint, sheet 21-7/8 x 18 in.; 18th century style print frame, 26-1/8 x 22-1/4 x 7/8 in.

Note: The subjects of this work, Edward Shuter, John Beard, and John Dunstall, were all accomplished and established stage presences in their own right. Shuter won renown for his talent with comedic roles and his portrayal of old men characters, Beard was a celebrated tenor who was given the title "Vocal Performer in Extraordinary" and an annual salary of £100 by King George III, and Dunstall was similarly known for his comedic roles, portraying the corpulent Father Dominick in Dryden’s "The Spanish Friar" and Dromio of Syracuse in Shakespeare’s "The Comedy of Errors."

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
