Spartanburg County, 1795 to 1810, single case construction, walnut with light wood inlay, lower door panels with inlaid initials "AE" distinctive applied and inlaid pediment applique, yellow pine secondary, cut nail construction, 103 x 55 x 27 in.
Provenance: The MESDA file records that this cupboard was "made for and descended in the Alexander Evins, a Revolutionary War figure who migrated to Spartanburg County, South Carolina after the war. He's buried at Nazareth Church Cemetery, Spartanburg County. The owner's grandfather married the granddaughter of Alexander Evins in 1861." Cupboard is accompanied by several letters from the Evins family regarding the corner cupboard and its provenance.; sold by Alan Christopher Antiques, February, 2019, accompanied by copy of receipt for $16,050; Private South Carolina Collection

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction, or will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
