Bowls English, "Chinese Scroll" jug, 1813-1815, Mason's crown mark with green enamel overpaint, 6-1/2 in., foot chips, glaze wear; jug with Asian motifs, Mason's black crown mark, 4-1/2 in., glaze wear and loss; two small tureens, blue scroll finials, animal-head handles, one "Green Mandarin" pattern, lid with impressed Mason's one-line mark and black crown mark overpainted in pink, lid and base rims with chips, bottom with discoloration, one "Mogul" pattern, one-line impressed Mason's mark and blue Mason's crown mark, 1815-1825, both sides of lid with yellow discoloration, base discolored, both 5-3/8 x 7-1/2 in.; pearlware dish with Chinamen of rank, circa 1820, 7-1/2 in., gilt wear and glaze anomalies as made; soup bowl, "Chinese Ladies with Crane", 1813-1830, impressed one-line Mason's mark, 9-1/2 in., two large reglued breaks, cracks, chips; blue and white Mason's jug, circa 1825, applied crossover handle of two ribbed straps with floral ends, Asian figures and landscapes, stork in flight above, impressed chrysanthemum on bottom with blue-stamped "B", 8-3/4 in., firing cracks where handles applied and at ridge below spout, otherwise very good condition . Provenance: Tennessee Private Collection; Note: Valerie Howard was a prominent dealer of Mason's in London. After her death, Christie's sold the remaining stock of her shop.; The jug with impressed chrysanthemum flower is unique among Mason wares in that it is never marked with a maker’s identification stamp or name. Neither the base design or crossover handle appear on any other jug.
