American, 20th century, urn form, inscribed on side "From the/Greek Citizens of Nashville/To/Colonel Thomas S. Hutchison/In appreciation of his service as a soldier in the Army of Greece before Janina./1912", the other side inscribed in Greek, marker William Nost Co., 14-3/4 in.
Note:Thomas Setzer Hutchison was American military office, volunteer office in Greece, police commissioner, civil reformer and author and inventor.
Her served as Colonel for five years and during that time commanded all of the troops of Tennessee, as he was rule and regulations of that governed the military forces of Tennessee.
Hutchison was a support of the Progressive Party and he became interested in the struggle in the Balkans after a visit to New York on business. He arrived in Greece on November 27, 1912. Hutchinson was immediately commissioned a Major of Artillery in the Garibaldi Legion and joined the Greek Army during the First Balkan War.
Hutchinson returned to Nashville, where he was celebrated by the Greek-American community. In 1913 he published his memories of the Epirus campaign entitled An American Soldier Under the Greek Flag.
In house shipping. Brunk Auctions provides in-house shipping via UPS Ground (signature required) for many items. Brunk Auctions will provide a shipping quote which includes shipping, materials, labor and insurance. Insurance is based on the selling price and premium.

Sales Tax: If you live in North Carolina and/or pick up from the auction house, and do not have a valid resale tax number on file with us, you MUST pay North Carolina state sales tax. The NC Sales Tax will not apply to any items being shipped out of state (unless the client resides in North Carolina) or to those clients with a resale tax number.
