- Lot Description
of circular form, having blue and purple ombre glaze, with three applied geometric elements, 5-1/2 in.
Note: Jun ware is a type of Chinese pottery, one of the Five Great Kilns of Song dynasty ceramics. Several different types of pottery are covered by the term, produced over several centuries and in several places, during the Northern Song dynasty (960?1127), Jin dynasty (1115?1234) and Yuan dynasty (1271?1368), and (as has become clearer in recent years) lasting into the early Ming dynasty (1368?1644). The most striking and distinctive Jun wares use blue to purple glaze colors, sometimes suffused with white, made with straw ash in the glaze. They often show "splashes" of purple on blue, sometimes appearing as though random, though they are usually planned.

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
