(American, 1900-1984)
Cary Grant; Lili Pons; Fiorella La Guardia; Jeanette MacDonald and Gene Raymond; all inscribed verso, all color carbro prints, Cary Grant dated 1958, Mayor La Guardia dated 1936, all approximately 17 x 13 in.; all matted, unframed, largest 24 x 20 in.

Note: The early color carbro (carbon & bromide) process was time consuming and technically demanding. It required three negatives, each made with a different color filter. Employing a special one-shot camera of his own design, Warnecke began producing carbro prints for the Daily News in the 1930s . Over the course of several decades, Warnecke and his team photographed hundreds of people in the news, from popular film stars like Cary Grant to important government officials and statesmen like Mayor Fiorella La Guardia..

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
