late 18th/early 19th century, full-stock smooth bore with part octagonal/part-round barrel, approximately .50 caliber bore, brass front sight, trigger guard and butt plate, 57 1/2 in. overall length, attached tag "New England fowler prob. 1760 - 70. Apple wood."; large area of repair and retouch to crack in wrist behind lock plates on both sides
