Surry or Mecklenburg County, Virginia, probably the Deloney family shop, late 18th century, in rich mellow brown color, two case construction, upper case with two eight pane doors with bone inlaid escutcheon opening to a deeply scalloped shelved interior, lower case with two scratch beaded dovetailed drawers with inlaid bone escutcheon, two paneled doors, set on distinctive shaped bracket feet, yellow pine secondary throughout, undisturbed backboards with cut nails, 90 x 42 x 19 in.
Note:The distinctive feet of this press place it in a known group of related examples from Mecklenburg County associated with the third generation of the Deloney family makers who began in Surry and James City County, then worked in Williamsburg before securing a major land grant in Mecklenburg County, where the third generation of the family set up shop and continued to adopt the styles of their father and grandfather.

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
