Probably shop of James Woodward, Norfolk, Virginia, or possibly shop of William Little, working Anson County North Carolina and Charleston South Carolina, circa 1800, figured oval top with drop leaves with banded and lightwood inlaid edges centering lightwood fan inlay, skirt fitted with single dovetailed drawer, legs with distinctive lightwood and quatrefoil patera panels above line and bellflower chain inlaid tapered legs, yellow and white pine secondary with beech gates, 28-3/4 x 20-1/4 x 33 in.
Note: The striking, refined elegance of this table is underscored by the simplicity of the drawer facing, which was never fitted with a brass pull.

some minor patches at rule joints, later color retouch at edges of fan inlay, other scattered areas of color retouch including at one oval patera, lacking cuff inlays, other scattered typical minor veneer repairs and one small lightwood banding loss at top, one minor corner loss and repair at drawer bottom
Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
