Veneered Parcel Gilt and Ebonized Commode
probably Austrian, circa 1810, highly figured veneers, dovetailed frieze drawer set with figural bronze escutcheon over two bookmatch-veneered cabinet doors with bronze escutcheons and flanked by carved gilt and part-ebonized figural pilasters, 34 x 37-1/2 x 18-1/2 in. excellent restored condition, minor pest damage, veneer repairs and other typical flaws, veneer patches at back edge of top with some color retouch, frieze drawer formerly set with pulls now replaced (some small plugged holes), escutcheons possibly associated, some restorations to feet (later blocking and some later replacements), top and shelves with typical cracks and warping at laminations and figured veneers, other scattered veneer repairs and small areas of retouch.
