American, early 19th century, two-part construction, top section with three-drawer front, central inlaid compartment with shelved interior flanked by single doors revealing four drawers over two pigeonholes, lower section with four graduated drawers with satinwood string inlay and oval bail brasses, scalloped apron, splayed legs, 52 x 40-3/4 x 18-1/2 in., splits to top with old restoration, old splits and cracks to central portion of doors in front, old splits to side panels, fold-down writing surface lacking tooled leather inset top, break and repair to foot facings, veneer patches on skirt.
