- Lot Description
12 Colonial notes, mostly Virginia; shadowbox with English and Scottish coins, with previous owner's notes relating to Napier family (early Virginia settlers), shadowbox 8 x 6-1/4 in.
Provenance: Estate of Dr. J. Francis and Laquita Amos, Rocky Mount, Virginia
Note: Dr. Francis Amos of Rocky Mount, Virginia assembled coins to fully illustrate the history of coinage used throughout the world. He concentrated on biblical coinage of the Holy Land as well as coins which circulated in the early days of the American colonies. Regarding the latter, many in his collection were from excavated finds unearthed from Virginia soil.

currency showing much wear at periphery and throughout, pinholes, losses or weakness at folds, two with tape reinforcement, one stitched note; coins with visible circulation, Charles I shilling polished and possibly clipped down

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
