- Lot Description
circa 1728, depicting the arms of Bromley, shield form with red and gilt border, further surrounded with blue and white border, the opposite side depicting the crest of Bromley of Horseheath Hall, a demi lion rampant emerging from a gilt crown, holding a red banner with gilt lion passant, in pretense Wyndham, blue shield with three gilt lion's heads, alternating with sprays of squash, scrolls, and flowers, gilt and iron red borders, 4-1/2 in.
Note: "William Bromley of Holt Castle, born in 1656, was M.P. for Worcester, and Mary his daughter became sole heiress, marrying in 1704 a distant cousin, John Bromley of Horseheath Hall, Cambridge, and leaving at his decease in 1718 an only son.
Henry Bromley of Horseheath Hall and Holt Castle, born 1705, married about 1728 Frances, sister and sole heir of Sir Francis Wyndham, Bt., of Trent, Somerset. He was M.P. for the county of Cambridge from 1727 to 1741, when he became Lord Montfort, Baron of Horseheath. He died in 1755 and was succeeded by his only son, but the barony became extinct in 1851."

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
