Hepplewhite Inlaid Mahogany Pembroke Table
attributed to Levin Tarr (1772-1821), figured mahogany oval top with two drop leaves and double inlay and double scratch-beaded edges, above bow-front frieze ornamented with light and dark stringing, flanked by cross-banded oval inlays over tapering legs with characteristic Tarr chain of three-part Baltimore style bellflowers suspended from rope-type patterned stringing, 28-1/2 x 33 x 21 in., opens to 43 in., overall fine condition and in an old finish, minor cracks in top, old break in skirt (one where leg joins and a narrow piece of leg was spliced where it meets the apron), some restorations to foot veneer, stringing and inlay.
