(19th century) Unusual portrait miniature of the sculptural life bust of George Washington by Houdon and likely to commemorate the semicentennial aniversary of Washington's death in 1859, unsigned, gouache and watercolor on ivory, 5 x 4-1/4 in.; original 19th century gilt wood frame with retailer's label for "Williams & Everett..No. 234 Washington Street…Boston", slight warp, possible retouching of black background, losses to ivory with some adhering to surface of glass, retouch of black surface.
