Rosewood Half-Tester Bedstead possibly Prudent Mallard, circa 1860, shaped and molded canopy set with silk lining on cluster-column supports, the headboard set with a carved urn, floral and scroll crest, foot posts with telescoping finials (for netting), probably original surface with old dry varnish, 105 x 75 x 93 in. (inside 66 x 84 in.) top of canopy lacking applique, otherwise generally good condition, applique for headboard a different color at back but appears to be original, veneer loss at one front foot, water damage to molding at one foot, other surface wear and abrasions with some minor repairs at moldings and other scattered minor flaws, reduced in height.
