Christ Taken Captive, (B.27. M.136), from Johann Mommard's copy of The Small Passion, circa, monogram ""AD"" in block lower right, woodcut laid on paper, 5 x 3-7/8 in.; gilt wood and composition frame, 13-3/4 x 12 in.
Provenance: Collection of the late Reynolds Price, North Carolina, sold by Brunk Auctions, March 10, 2012, lot 153; Private Collection
Note: Mommard is best known for his meticulous copies of 36 of Albrecht Dürer's woodcuts. The first edition of Mommard's copies appeared in 1587 and the second in 1644.

tape verso at bottom corners, small stains/foxing, taped at top verso, pencil inscriptions verso, flaw in paper or restoration at Judas' proper left sleeve; frame with abrasions, losses

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
