textured Boxer mounted on circular clip, round single cut ruby eyes, border engraved "Artie - may I always have you for a friend - love - Betty", stamped maker's mark, "14K", yellow gold, 2-1/4 x 2 in., 44.1 g
Provenance: Private Collection, North Carolina
Note: Accompanied by typed letter from Arthur Turk (stage name Art Johnson) describing how his wife, Florence (Flo) Turk, a dancer, rehearsed with Betty Grable, actress and dancer, for a show at Desert Inn in Las Vegas, Nevada. Although the letter is undated, Turk refers to meeting Betty Grable, Grable's husband Harry James, and Grable's daughters in 1953, and shortly thereafter rehearsing for the show.
In the late 1950s Betty Grable and Dave Barry, comedian, headlined a Donn Arden Dance Productions show at Wilbur Clark's Desert Inn in Las Vegas, and this may be the performance referred to in the letter.
The money clip was given to Arthur Turk (Art Johnson) as a gift of appreciation from Betty Grable.

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction, or will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
