- Lot Description
"The Thousand Buddhas: Ancient Buddhist Paintings from the Cave-Temples of Tun-Huang on the Western Frontier of China"; recovered and described by Aurel Stein, K.C.I.E. with an introductory essay by Laurence Binyon; outside folio measures approximately 25" x 20-1/2"; published by Bernard Quaritch, Ltd., London 1921 under the orders of H.M. Secretary of State for India and with the Co-Operation of the Trustees of the British Museum; included inside the folio is a text with 65 pp., a collection of fifteen 15-3/4" x 12" plates as well as thirty-four 25" x 20-1/4" plates; color and black and white plates; slipcase in Fair condition with age appropriate wear; internally clean.
