Petie Brigham oil on canvas "Breaking Close In"; depicting a crashing wave; signed to bottom right corner as well as titled, signed, dated "2004" and marked "Manteo, N.C." to back; tag to back also lists artist, title, size and original price of $1,250; measures approximately 25" x 13" with wood frame and has a sight image of approximately 24" x 11-3/4"; in Very Good condition. Petie Brigham is a North Carolina artist who revels in the beauty of the Outer Banks. Her landscapes, both oil and watercolor, portray the turbulence and the serenity of the coastal waters.
