Brass ship lantern circa early 20th century, stamped "Perko Marine Lamps and Hardware Co." on heavily oxidized back panel. Hinged door with sliding latch; thick beveled glass lens; mechanism on back for hanging lamp. Measures approximately 10" tall, 8" wide and 6-1/2" deep. In overall good condition consistent with age and use. The Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation was founded by a Russian immigrant in Brooklyn, NY in 1907. The company's name and trademark was changed to "Perko Marine Lamps and Hardware" in 1922. The company headquarters was moved to Florida in the mid 20th century and they continue to manufacture quality marine lamps and hardware today.
