Pal Fried (Hungary 1893-1976) oil on canvas portrait of a woman dancer posing provocatively, framed; having a height of 38-1/2" with width of 32-1/2", & sight image height of 29-1/2" with width of 23-1/2". Signed to lower left. In overall good condition. All measurements are approximate. Pal Fried, (1893-1976), Hungarian American artist, was born in Budapest and studied at the Hungarian Academie under Professor Hugo Pohl and in Paris under Claude Monet and Lucien Simone. He exhibited his work in Mucsarnok in Budapest. In. Pal Fried gained popularity while living and painting in Hollywood during the 1950s and 1960s. He painted high society women and celebrities including Marilyn Monroe and Zsa Zsa Gébor. His artwork has gained much deserved recognition and notoriety and has become highly collectible. Many of his paintings hung in the famed Haussner Restaurant in Baltimore, Maryland.
