Lot of personal possessions of Navy Surgeon General Rear Admiral H. Lamont Pugh. Includes: a first edition hardcover of "Diagnosis In Daily Practice" (J.B. Lippincott Company, 1947) by White and Geschickter, inscribed and signed by Geschickter, inscription reads: "To my good friend, Admiral Lamont Pugh, with my high esteem-Charles J Geschickter, Xmas 1947". Book measures 10" x 7-1/4"; a framed letter of thanks for his military service during World War Two, signed by President Harry Truman measuring 11-1/4" in height by 9" in width; a framed black and white photo of Admiral Pugh in his dress uniform measuring 10-1/4" in height by 8" in width; the 36th volume (1923) of the University of Virginia publication, "Corks and Curls" with "H. Lamont Pugh" foil stamped to the front cover, books measures 10-1/2" x 8-1/4"; an unframed inscribed print on cardboard dedicated to Surgeon General Pugh in 1951 measuring 16" in height by 12" in width; Lamont Pugh's 1912 Crozet Public High school diploma in an open frame measuring 15-1/2" in height by 18-1/2" in width; a 1952 certificate from the Medical Society of America in an open frame measuring 15" in height by 18" in width; a framed statement of the formal appointment of Lamont Pugh to the position of Surgeon General of the Navy in 1951, signed by President Truman and measuring 22" in height by 17-1/2" in width; a framed collage of photographs from Surgeon General Pugh's swearing in ceremony measuring 22-1/2" in height by 19" in width; a 1925 framed certificate of initiation into the fabled "Solemn Mysteries of the Ancient Order of the Deep" which symbolizes a time-honored tradition of commemorating a sailor crossing the equator for the first time, frame measures 18" in height by 24" in width; a framed picture of the University of Virginia Medical Class of 1923 measuring 14-1/2" in height by 17-1/2" in width; and a framed symbolic certificate marking Pugh's journey to the Arctic Circle in 1952 measuring 13-3/4" in height by 16-3/4" in width.
