- Lot Description
Mancala board from Ivory Coast in the shape of a crocodile; measures approximately 25" tall; please refer to photographs for condition. Mancala is a cognitive board game, based on logics and mathematical combinatorics. Different variations of the game are played on four continents: Africa, Asia, South and North America. To this day, two hundred variations of mancala have been documented, and they differ from village to village, hose to house, sometimes even from person to person. Each local variation carries its own name, mancala being the term used by anthropologists in scientific and research papers, in order to signify a group of related board games with hollows.
