- Lot Description
Having a beautiful light blue field with geometric pattern; measures approximately 5'8" x 8'8". A Serapi rug is a wool, hand-knotted oriental rug made in the rugged mountains of northwestern Persia. The Serapi design is a blend of many elements of the region and the time, combining bold designs from the Caucasian tribes of the Aras River to the north and medallion geometry from the Tabriz region to the west. Serapi rugs are made on the familial level by women who are highly skilled in weaving and masters of color creation using natural dyes.
