Hedley Fitton (England, 1859 - 1929) drypoint etching of a windmill, pencil signed and titled "Ancient Landmarks" below image; measures approximately 16-1/2" in height by 13" in width with a sight image of approximately 11-1/2" in height by 8-1/4" in width. Matted and framed under glass. Hedley Fitton was born in 1859 in Manchester, England and was a pupil at the Warrington School of Art. He worked throughout England, Scotland, France and Italy and is now mostly remembered mainly as an etcher of architectural subjects. He exhibited his work at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers, R.W.A. and at the Paris Salon. He became an Associate of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1903 and a full member in 1908.
