David Isakovich Rubinstein (Russia, 1902 - 1993). Framed portrait of a woman doing manicure even though second title of work is "Pedicure"; graphite on paper, by Russian artist David Isakovich Rubinstein; initialed to front "D.P." and dated February 14, 1968; extensive Russian writing en verso from artist's gallery director in Moscow, translated as follows: "Maiden 1998, 22cm x 22cm, pencil/ Drawing 'Maiden' second title 'Pedicure' was executed by David Rubinstein and sold by Lez Oread Gallery during personal exhibition in Central House of Artists, Moscow, June 19th 1997, Director of Gallery" with signature to bottom and Lez Oread stamp to left verso; measures approximately 14-5/8" x 14-1/4" with frame and has a sight image of approximately 8" x 7-7/8"; in good overall condition. David Isaacovich Rubinshteyn (Rubinstein) was born in Odessa in 1902. In 1936 he graduated from the Art College in Odessa, and became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSA in 1932. He participated in regional, republican and all-union artistic exhibitions. Rubinshteyn died in 1993 in Moscow.
