- Lot Description
An exceptional porcelain urn with fixed lid mounted and decorated with parcel gilt bronze applied fittings, enameled with cerise ground overlaid with neoclassical gilded motif of cherub. The base is painted with a young woman holding a spear, possibly an allusion to Joan of Arc. The base is intricately decorated with flanking acanthus scrolls. This porcelain urn exudes quality and taste from mid to late 19th C.

Excellent - screw holding the urn to the mount is loose allowing the former to rotate. Age related tarnishing and soiling on bronze.
