- Lot Description
Atlanta Braves photographer Walter Victor (1917-2014) took this photograph at the 1992 World Series game between the Braves and Toronto Bue Jays. The color photograph is signed and inscribed by Victor as Grand Slam - World Series Toronto 1992 Victor.
Victor, a decorated World War 2 veteran, began photographing for the Braves in 1966. Wikipedia says that 12 of his photographs are in the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
This photograph was given to his friend, another Baseball great and Hall of Fame honoree, Ernie Johnson, Sr.
The photograph is printed on card stock with bleeding edges, showing Lonnie Smith hitting the grand slam.
