ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Elegant and bold, bright red ruby composites with diamond halos dangle from diamond huggie-style hoop earrings. The ruby composite diamond halo combination is prong-set and supported by a ribbed back gallery and raised by a ribbed gallery. The earrings attach to the earlobe with internal snap-lock posts. The Oscar Friedman hallmark. gold content, and gemstone weights are stamped on the back of the gallery.- *Composite Rubies are made of a "composition" of genuine, natural, red corundum (ruby) and tinted lead-glass that is bonded together. Composite rubies look like beautiful, bright, red, high quality rubies, but are only a fraction of the price of natural rubies.
- Composite rubies DO require special care that is different from natural rubies, treated or untreated. If your jewelry item contains ruby composite and needs repair or adjustments, you must advise your jeweler that they are ruby composites in order for the right precautions to be made. Do not place composite rubies in chemicals or an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. Warm water and a soft cloth is the best way to clean composite stones.
