SÈVRES.
Pair of soft porcelain rim plates with polychrome decoration in the center of a bouquet of flowers and on the wing and the fall of a green ribbon and a garland of flowers, the edge decorated with an interlacing of garlands of flowers on a gold background surrounding green spandrels. These plates were probably delivered for Antoine-René de Voyer d'Argenson, marquis de Paulmy in 1760, or to Madame Lair the same year. Two deliveries of green ribbon plates, whose description could correspond to this pair, are listed: - A first that included forty-eight plates, from a service "à rubans verds," delivered to Monsieur le Marquis de Paulmy on March 29, 1760 (D. Peters, Sèvres Plates and Services of the 18th century, II, 2005, 60-1). - A second delivery which included forty-eight plates, of a service "à rubans verds", delivered to Madame Lair between April 1 and July 11, 1760 (D. Peters, 2005, II, 60-2).
About 1757-1758.
