  MAUPASSANT (Guy de). Autograph letter signed to his "dear friend". S.l., [between July 1884 and December 1889].
  1 p. in-16 on blue paper; framed under glass.
  
  "I was planning to leave tomorrow, Tuesday, for Cannes, but I am postponing my trip until Thursday, and I suggest that you come to my house for lunch tomorrow at the same time. We will then go to rue Montchanin [Guy de Maupassant's home at the time] where I will meet the painter to have you choose papers if you like the apartment, because I am having them refreshed. I was asking for 2,000. I'll let you have it for 1,600 f. That's less than I pay for it. The only charge is for the heating system, and an economic charge. We share the expenses by half with the owner. For 25 cents a day we are heated for five months. I kiss your hands tenderly... "
