• Lot Description
  CHINA - KANGXI period (1662-1722).
  Important twelve-leaf screen in Coromandel lacquer with incised and polychrome lacquered decoration of dignitaries arriving in a palace in front of a mandarin watching young women dancing. The rim is decorated with a frieze of flowering vases, landscapes and flanked by two dragons. On the back, a congratulatory text written by Liu Shichang, an official of the Hanlin Academy, on the occasion of Song Yunweng's 70th birthday, dated Kangxi jiazi (1684).
