BINDING WITH THE COAT OF ARMS OF MADAME ADÉLAIDE. - ROYAL ALMANAC. In Paris, by Le Breton, 1769. In-8, 570 [numbered 1 to 199, 200-1 to 200-5, 201 to 566] pp, garnet morocco, spine ribbed with partitions and fleurons, large gilt lace framing the boards with gilt coat of arms in the center, filleted edges, gilt inner scroll, gilt paper endpapers, gilt edges; lower board stained, tiny tear in one of the spine ends (period binding).

One of the daughters of Louis XV, MADAME ADÉLAIDE (1732-1800) was a music lover, a scholar, a bibliophile, and collected a library of more than ten thousand volumes. She always showed hostility to the Marquise de Pompadour. She died in Trieste in 1800.
