- Lot Description
Neoclassical style variegated marble display pedestal/ plant stand, having circular top and smooth standard, rising on integral platform base, intact with two divots to display top and chipping throughout, approx 42"h, 12"diam
Condition
11.9.24- LOT 3259: I note that the pedestal is presently intact and structurally sturdy, the marble having inherent natural inclusions and fissures, the stone being variegated as described, with tonal variations from areas of discoloration commensurate with age and use, there is scattered chipping, particularly to the edges of joinery of each piece (see images), one area above the base having a minor hairline but remaining intact, UV light examination does not reveal evidence or restoration or reinforcement, examination of the entirety of the pedestal do not reveal areas of fluorescence, the display top has two deep divots of varied degrees, the spot in near the center being relatively shallow, the other divot being approximately the length of my fingernail (illustrated in accompanying image)
