Large Russian lacquered and painted papier-mache table box, artist signed lower right M. Veselov (Mikhail Mikhailovich Veselov, Kholui, b.1959), dated 2006, the lid depicting scene from the folk tale "The Tale of Tsar Saltan," black lacquer ground with parcel gilt border, red lacquered interior with removable tray fitted with four smaller fairy tale boxes including "Ruslan and Ludmila," "The Dead Princess and the Seven Knights," "The Fisherman and the Fish," and "The Golden Cockerel," approx 4"h, 12.5"l, 10.5"w, 7.5lbs
