- Lot Description
Paint-decorated console table, 20th c., having shaped natural wood top, over one drawer with foliate marquetry, rising on straight supports, joined by lower shelf, ending on tapered feet, approx 33.5"h, 46.75"w, 16.75"d
Condition
08.28.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 2443: I note that the console is presently intact and structurally secure, having varying degrees of evidence of old woodworm concentrated to the table top, apron, and upper region of tapered supports, the top also having inherent naturally occurring burls of small size, the top and medial shelf each having a minor split extending horizontally, the drawer currently operates smoothly, and I do not currently observe losses to the inlaid drawer marquetry, there is patination of the metal mounts near either end of drawer, and typical light wear to the painted finish concentrated along corners and edges, as well as minor nicks and abrasions, the minor surface wear being commensurate with age and use
