- Lot Description
Rococo Revival carved walnut mirror, 19th c., having fanned crest, cartouche-shaped frame with rocaille and c-scrolls, dolphin with three young Tritons, encasing a beveled mirror plate, one figure arm and hand intact with restoration, top figure with loss of fingers, small flake to mirror plate lower left, approx 21 5/8"h, 11.25"w, 3.75lbs
Condition
1.13.24-the mirror plate is beveled, I note a light yellowish hazing, a surface chip at the lower left, and a small blemish/minute flee bite the upper right mirror, see images, the uppermost figure is lacking part of his hand, a UV light examination reveals restoration to the second figures arm and hand, carvings remain well defined with some typical minor losses, rubs and wear as commensurate with age and use
