French Louis XVI style mahogany drop-front secretary, Maison Krieger, Paris, late 19th c., inset marble top, fall-front panel opening to inset writing surface, interior gallery fitted with six drawers, four exterior drawers below, on toupie feet, locks stamped "Mon. Krieger/ Ameublement/ Paris," approx 58.25"h, 35"w, 17.5"d Start Price: $600.00

01.03.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 1321: I note that the secretaire is intact and structurally sturdy, the marble exhibits inherent natural inclusions and fissures, and the hinges of the drop front display splits, the inset writing surface appears to be later, and there is patination throughout metal mounts, the column support at the left side of the interior gallery has a chip to the top end and visible glue at the bottom edge, there is light typical surface wear such as light abrasions and chips, particularly at edges of drawers commensurate with use<br><br>Detailed condition reports are not included in this catalog.
