- Lot Description
Louis XVI style carved wood architectural wall ornament, modeled as a woven basket, adorned with sheaths of wheat, foliates, and blooming flowers, approx 22"h, 16"w, 3lbs **Provenance: From the Byram Family's Above Stratford Mansion. John Byram, a prominent Austin-based real estate developer, and his late wife Sally Byram curated this French Provincial style estate with the help of notable architects and interior designers. The home has remained untouched since Sally's untimely passing in 2006, serving as a testament to her taste for sophistication and craftsmanship**
Condition
CR 3.24.25-In my opinion regarding: LOT 2490: The ornament is secured to the wall via a drilled hole at the upper reverse side of the plaque (see image), hangs with insertion of a nail into this niche, I note that the ornament is presently intact and structurally secure, there are typical tonal variations of the finish, due in part to light rubs and sparse surface grime build up commensurate with age and use, I observe several minor splits, all appearing stable, which are typical, and a minor glue restoration near the central plane of right side edge that seems to only be visible from the reverse side (see image under natural and UV light), there is scattered typical minor chips and some small losses to foliate elements at either side, as well as a small area of loss near the center, seemingly with remnants of filled concealment, please review attached images for reference
