- Lot Description
Louis XV style gilt console table and mirror, late 20th c., gilt composite mirror with shaped frame and scrolled crest, encasing beveled mirror plate, over giltwood console with mirrored glass top, rising on cabriole legs, ending on whorl feet, silver loss to mirrored top, console: approx 32.5"h, 54"w, 17"d, mirror: approx 56.5"h, 46.5"w
Condition
10.24.24-I note that the mirror and table are intact, the mirror with a minor repair to the top of the crest, the mirror framing also with minor evidence of old woodworm as is commensurate with origin, with a tonal variation between the gilt finish of the mirror and the table, the gilt finish of the console appearing deliberately distressed to emulate age, the mirrored glass top and beveled mirror plate are both currently free from observed hairlines/ fractures or chips, the glass top appearing to lift slightly above the top edge of trim in some places but I am unsure why this is (see image), I observe a minute amount of typical surface wear commensurate with age and use, such as a few small nicks and light abrasions, and minor rubs to the gilt finish
