French Louis Philippe period burled walnut commode, mid 19th c., having marble top, over four drawers, rising on platform base, further raised on squared feet, small chips to marble at corners, approx 38.5"h, 49"w, 21"d Start Price: $400.00
Condition
11.6.23-LOT – 338- The marble top is intact with the mentioned chipping along both front corners, and at right back corner, I further note some spotting, and wear to the top, the case is beautifully figured, there are some small areas of wood wear, minor losses / nicks to wood, drawers could use a waxing to facilitate smoother movement, all mentioned commensurate with age and use, the concealed drawer and top two large drawers are lacking a lock, pulls are later, the lower drawer has a lock that may have been replaced, I have taken images for your review, the bottom drawer slides all the way back and sits ever so slightly askew, this could likely be rectified by placing a stop at back interior, please refer to online images to view side panels
