French Louis XVI style mahogany sideboard, 20th c., shaped marble top, over demilune case with mounted gilt metal foliated trim, fitted with five drawers, over five cabinets, each with interior shelving, on metal-capped fluted and tapered legs, approx 40.5"h, 103.5"w, 21.5"d
Condition
10.4.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 3340: I note that the sideboard is presently intact and structurally sturdy, the marble top has a layer of shellac that is yellowed and chipping along the edges, as well as having a few shallow minor chips to the marble edge, which are typical, all drawers currently operate smoothly, as does the cabinetry, the fixed interior shelving appearing sturdy, there is patination of mounted metal hardware and trim, one of the back legs of the sideboard is intact with a glue reinforcement at the joinery, and there is a segment of trim at the left-hand drawer that is intact but slightly warped at an area of lifting from the drawer face, I observe a minute amount of typical minor surface wear such as small veneer chips near drawers, and light abrasions commensurate with age and use
