She studied at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Josefina first came to Los Angles in 1971 when she was hired to restore David Alfaro Siqueiros' América Tropical mural. 01.18.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 1035: As described there are abrasions with associated paint loss, particularly along the edges and through the central ground of the figure’s clothing, I note that the painting and accompanying frame are intact, with visible unpainted canvas around the edges of frame (likely previously housed in smaller frame), the oil paint is brittle and there are small flakes of pigment losses, I observe minute spots of inpainting throughout the greenery on the right hand side of the figure, particularly along the edge, and there are some stray markings (not original) such as one in pencil to the bottom region of the stockings
