- Lot Description
Large Italian Renaissance Revival carved walnut armoire, early 20th c., having split pediment crest with central floral urn, above central cabinet door with inset beveled mirror plate, revealing hanging rod and single interior drawer, flanked on both sides by cabinet doors with columnar corner posts, rightmost cabinet opening to seven drawers and shelving, leftmost cabinet revealing single interior drawer, carved with cherub masks, floral medallions, half figures, and fruit motifs, rising on paw feet, approx 106"h, 94"w, 26.5"d **Note: matching bed, dressing commode and pair of nightstands offered in this auction**

11.21.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 3269: I note that the armoire is presently intact and structurally sturdy, the beveled mirror plates being free from presently observed fractures/ hairlines and visible chipping, and appearing securely encased within door framing, and having a minute amount of typical light spotting near edges, the urn crest with a split just below the floral spray but currently remains intact, the interior drawer and cabinet doors operating smoothly, I observe a segment of loss to the lower edge trim at the back corner of left-hand side panel, and some minor spotting to the edge directly below armoire doors, and typical minor surface wear, which is sparse in number, such as small nicks and chips, and scattered abrasions commensurate with age and use
