French Napoleon III period carved prie-dieu/ prayer kneeler, late 19th c., in a black painted finish, having padded top rail and seat in needlepoint upholstery, with nailhead trim, carved cross splat, rising on turned front supports, possibly lacking element or plaque as there are two small drilled holes to cross at splat, approx 33.5"h, 19"w, 18"d
Condition
6.25.24-LOT – 3435-The chair is in sturdy condition, the frame shows some light areas of finish wear, small nicks and rubs, needlepoint upholstery shows age with some threadbare areas, small losses at corners, and discoloration throughout, all as commensurate with age and use, there may have been an element on back splat at one time as there are two small finished drill holes in the center of the cross, see image
