- Lot Description
French Louis XVI style mahogany bookcase, late 19th/ early 20th c., having molded cornice, over three glazed doors opening to shelved interior, each framed by fluted columnar pilasters, rising on turned feet, with gilt metal banding throughout, approx 77.75"h, 72"w, 18.5"d
Condition
03.08.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 1408: I note that the bookcase is presently intact and structurally sturdy, there is patination/ oxidation of gilt metal banding, some areas having minor gilt paint touch ups and minor pitting, the glass is also intact without presently observed chips or fractures, appearing secure within door framing, the interior shelves are sturdy, and I observe a minor area of seam separation at joinery of block above one of the front turned legs, there is typical minor surface wear such as minute dents to metal, light abrasions, nicks, and scuffs concentrated to the columnar pilasters and the feet commensurate with use
